About the Company

On October 14, 2019, five community colleges and NISOD came together and agreed to "Blaze The Way Forward" for the 64.5M working learners and 30M employers in the US — to ensure that every community and technical college learner gets into a job, and that every company has the best talent to help it grow.

At the end of 2021, Unmudl's technology was ready for a large-scale pilot. That became a reality when Amanda Willard, Amazon's workforce strategist, chose Unmudl — establishing the platform as the preferred Skills-to-Jobs® marketplace for America's most forward-looking employers.

Unmudl operates at the intersection of workforce education and commercial marketplace — simultaneously mission-driven and revenue-generating. Backed by America's 1,100+ community and technical college locations, the Unmudl Skills-to-Jobs® Marketplace is the transaction layer for technician hiring at national scale, expanding into Mexico and Canada.

Mission, Vision & Approach

Our Mission
Skills-to-Jobs on the shortest, most flexible path.

Unmudl's mission is to provide learners, particularly working learners, with skill paths to learning and employment, while slashing time, cost, and uncertainty. Via Unmudl, every learner can get skills to go from Skills-to-Jobs on the shortest, most flexible, and affordable path possible.

Our Vision
An economical, transparent, infinitely adjustable system.

In Unmudl's vision, the high cost, rigidity, and uncertain reward of higher education is replaced with an economical, transparent, infinitely adjustable sequence of stints in which the employer, college, and learner are in constant communication about current needs — and the system responds quickly to each.

Our Approach
Get Skills. Get Creds. Get Hired.

Every working learner should be able to follow three steps. This connects skill building to credentials reflective of knowledge and practical expertise — to the job roles that support our economy. Individual growth drives community growth that exponentially impacts America's growth.

Each domain has structural authority. None overlap. None substitute for another. Corporate Governance

Unmudl operates as a Delaware-incorporated Public Benefit Company (PBC) — a legal structure that formally enshrines both commercial and public benefit obligations. This is not a nonprofit designation. It is a recognition that building sustainable infrastructure for America's technician workforce requires operating simultaneously as a business and a civic institution.

As a private company, Unmudl does not publicly disclose financial statements or investor details. We maintain the governance standards appropriate for a growing, investor-backed infrastructure company: fiduciary responsibility, transparent reporting to stakeholders, and clear separation of commercial operations from philanthropic and grant-funded programs.

Partners, prospective investors, and institutional collaborators may request a governance briefing by contacting our investor relations office directly.

Governance Principles
  • Commercial rigor with public benefit accountability
  • Board oversight on strategic decisions and capital deployment
  • Separation of commercial and philanthropic revenue streams
  • Transparent reporting to all stakeholder classes
  • No commingling of learner data with employer commercial activity
  • Code of conduct applicable to all employees and contractors
  • Whistleblower protections per Delaware PBC statute
